A little About Us and our Coton de Tulear Dogs...

My husband Ted and our 3 dogsMy husband and I moved from Toronto, Canada to Corning, New York 10 years ago. Five years later we moved to Allen, Texas just north of Dallas. No more cold winters for us. While living in Toronto, I bred Schnauzers and loved it. After we moved to Texas, we decided to breed Coton de Tulears because we heard this little known breed is wonderful with children, people, and can adapt to any living environment.

We found this is all true, as our Cotons are happy when children visit to play. They love meeting new people and would be happy anywhere as long as they are with someone to love and please. Coton de Tulears are calm, undemanding and affectionate dogs easy to care for. The breed has a white fine hair just like their "coton" name. They stay fairly clean and are easy to groom. These are non-allergenic dogs and don't shed.

Our Coton de Tulear dogs do have personality! Shasha is very much a little girl and Sergei can be a little mischievous at times due to his curiosity. I must admit the male dogs seem to have the more fun personality and Sergei usually has us laughing at something he has done. When we go to the local doggie park, both our cotons will play happily with the other dogs as well as investigate a broken branch or puddle of water.

Our Cotons de Tulear are home raised and part of our family. See our Coton de Tulear Family or photo album. We also have an alpha dog named Minnie. She is a cross, part "Min Pin" and part Schnauzer, a cute combination. My husband insisted on buying her, rescuing her from an unhappy situation. What a wonderful dog she has turned out to be and great as a helper for our puppies. The dogs all love each other and she keeps the others in line.

FircrestWe named our Kennel "Fircrest" as a tribute to my memories of growing up in British Columbia. My grandparents had a property named Fircrest in Ocean Park on the Pacific shore. I have many wonderful memories of times there. It was there that my love of animals began. We had sheep, horses and dogs around us and I loved it. It seemed like my very own wonderland where I felt very loved. This is what we want for our dogs.

We love what we do and plan to continue our kennel well into retirement. We also concern ourselves to place our puppies in a safe and loving environment.

Enjoy!
